About Us

  • Selective Cleaning & Restoration has always been a local, family owned and operated business. In 2000, John Magleby purchased GD Garner Cleaning and turned it into Selective Cleaning & Restoration, Inc. John proudly operated the business, with part time assistance from his son, Chris, and daughter-in-law, Jill, until 2009 when he was ready to reel up his hoses for the last time and retire. Chris and Jill took over the business at that time, with Jill managing the day to day operations. Selective Cleaning & Restoration, Inc. remains a family owned and operated business that takes pride in being part of the East Idaho community.

    Selective Cleaning & Restoration Inc. is a high-end residential and commercial carpet, tile, upholstery, and mattress care company serving the greater Idaho Falls area from Rexbury to Shelley. On select dates we also travel as far north as Island Park, as far south as Pocatello, and east to Jackson Hole. Our services are trusted and utilized by homeowners, business owners, flooring professionals, interior designers, and many local realtors.

    About the owners:

    Chris and Jill met in Pocatello while attending Idaho State University. Chris grew up in Rexburg and spent summers on his family’s cattle ranch in Island Park. Jill grew up in Pocatello. They married in 2004 and moved to Idaho Falls. Chris and Jill have always enjoyed working side by side building their businesses. They have operated businesses in construction, carpet cleaning, restoration, and property management. Currently they are focused on their construction business, Selective Builders LLC, and their carpet cleaning business, Selective Cleaning & Restoration, Inc.

    For fun, they enjoy attending community racing, rodeo, and comedy events. They also greatly enjoy relaxing at home with their kids. Chris has a passion for snowmobiling and you will often find Jill at the Crossfit gym in her spare time.

    In 2014 they welcomed their son, Colter, into the family. He definitely takes after his dad with his passion for farming and tractors, and his natural ability to operate machinery. After a long wait, in 2021 they were excited to finally welcome a daughter, Halle. She brings a big personality, lots of energy, and so much fun to the family!
